One of the most annoying denizens of Twitter (to me) is the Twitter nanny who, whenever I quote-Tweet or respond to, for instance, an antivax Tweet in order to refute its misinformation, inevitably shows up in my responses to oh-so-self-righteously scold me for "amplifying" it.

It's gotten to the point lately where I'm seriously considering instituting a policy of automatically blocking people who show up in my mentions ONLY to self-righteously scold me for "amplifying" misinformation.

Regardless of their true motivations, they’re right. Better to just take a screenshot of the tweet.

It is annoying when you take time to educate and people correct your communication strategy. But I also worry about unintended amplification. Granted, I could be wrong. Misinformation has had dire consequences. Thank you for your efforts even if I am not sold on your strategy.
