Seriously, I hope Isaac is right, but, having followed and studied antivaxxers for nearly two decades, I'm not optimistic that he is. Indeed the last couple of months tell me that he probably is not.

I've been saying that the government should have tied a round of stimulus checks to the vaccine. $500 for the first one, $1500 for the second one ($2000 for J&J). Do you know of any evidence that paying people to get vaccinated increases the number of people willing to get one?

The issue with that position is that it’s ableist. Of the subset of the population willing to get the vaccine, there is a subset of those willing but unable to get it. Penalizing them is cruel, especially since the health issues that prevent vaccination are likely beyond control.
