I read one of the papers on CRISPR and thought it interesting. Then this COV-2 business started up and when I read that the Chinese published it's genome I thought "maybe 18 months if they start now" and I was surprised when they got it done in under a year. glad to be wrong.

Definitely. I was very happy to have been too pessimistic in my estimate of when there might be safe and effective vaccines.
