So @drlbram "I'm not racist" = "I am racist". "I'm very much not racist" = "I'm very racist".. "I am a racist" = I am a racist". What would falsify your theory that both denial & admission of racism = racism? What would it take to change your mind about your theory?https://twitter.com/DrIbram/status/1370008868877705222 …

They usually say, "I'm not racist" or "No, you're the racist" or "I am the least racist person." This denial speak is new: "very much not racist." https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/prince-william-response-racism-britain/2021/03/11/c5de88ce-825d-11eb-be22-32d331d87530_story.html …

Oh, please. This is a not inappropriate response to a specific denial. And he’s right. Most racists deny that they’re racist, just as most antivaxxers deny they’re antivax. This is so obvious that jokes about it were old when I was a kid. 🙄

Had the same thought. "I'm just asking the questions..." are the most virulent denialists, because they've learned, by practice, to cover their intentions up.

I love how Shermer’s defenders think that asking me if I’m racist is some sort of massive “gotcha.” It doesn’t bother me to admit that I have racist tendencies. Pretty much every white guy my age does. The question is: What am I doing about it? I’m trying to learn and be better.

David Gorski can divine the truth by studying *the way* in which the accused responds.

Right. So anyone accused of racism must be guilty unless they're savvy enough to deny it in a specific way? If you were accused in public of something so awful, what would be your response?

It’s like the witch hunts. You get accused of being a witch and you say you’re not a witch, then they’re saying you’re denying it. Doesn’t matter what you say. Either way you lose.

Denial of an accusation is obviosly not evidence, let alone proof, of the invalidity of that accusation. But denial of an accusation is equally not evidence, let alone proof, of its validity either. What Sherma said was compleately true.

Most racists actually don't deny they're racist. They're very proud of it and they make no effort to hide it. If anyone says they're not racist it's because they're NOT racist! It's not difficult to understand....
