Having never heard of Mallard Fillmore before, I went to its website and perused its last couple of weeks worth of strips. Damn. Maybe the reason the strip was "cancelled" by those papers is that it is painfully unfunny and not very clever.

This is perhaps the lamest of the bunch, a truly tone-deaf and stupid take on white privilege. https://www.comicskingdom.com/mallard-fillmore/2021-03-07 …

Man, I miss Doonsbury, and the Sunday comics page in general.

I’ve known Mallard Fillmore fir years - it’s never been funny or clever. Right-wing talking points spewed by a duck.

I've loved Doonesbury for many years. I remember when it was moved from the comics page to the editorial page in many papers later to be dropped entirely. I still read the older ones during the week and the new ones on Sunday. I wish Trudeau would back to new ones daily.

'Mallard Fillmore' and the comical side of cancel culture. 'Doonesbury' has already been there.
