I don't think I had heard that one. I will say that blocking strikes me as an awfully big gun; I wish it didn't stop the blocked party from *reading* (which is a little pointless given that Tweets are public and one can always just open an anonymous window).

But if someone is being really abusive—or has blocked you already!—why not? That is what it is for.

What reason would there be to allow someone who blocked you to continue tweeting from behind a block, or to block/unblock at will, which are the only two reasons I can see someone want to be unblocked by someone they blocked? It's a power play. Why let them?

Some people love themselves too much. They genuinely believe that on blocking you, you will sit there sad & miserably waiting for their merciful change of heart to unblock you.
