I hope it was clear that I’m asking for citation(s) from the scientific literature.

You know, If these things are so “obvious and generally accepted,” then it should be child’s play to provide systematic reviews and/or meta-analyses supporting them.🤦🏻‍♂️ https://twitter.com/ThePatDad/status/1366178539486208003 …

Ah, I see what’s going on. The original Tweeter was conflating isolation after exposure to #COVID19 to the sort of inhumane solitary confinement that’s been used to punish unruly teens in juvenile facilities.

If the person can show where solitary confinement is being recommended or required for 10-year-olds after a #COVID19 exposure, then I’ll go along with that half, because solitary confinement is inhumane punishment for anyone.

However, anyone who claims that a 10-year-old has “virtually zero chance” of having problems with #COVID19 is full of crap. Certainly they have a much lower chance of death or serious illness, but “virtually zero”?

Steve nails what I meant to say but did so inelegantly and too quickly. I should’ve looked at the thread more closely before responding.https://twitter.com/Anton_P_Nym/status/1366191075942137856 …

Category error; COVID isolation is not remotely the same, as solitary confinement: a) doesn't allow for at-will phone/Zoom/Instagram/Facetime contact with friends, & b) generally is *solitary* confinement, not confinement with family.

I’m sorry but there were multiple fishy things about that thread. If she was real, it’s people like her why I am not a pediatrician. Said she couldn’t be around her kid because she had asthma. I thought about suggesting masks and then decided either fake or crazy.
