Honest question: Even with masking, Covid spread because many didn't mask. Why was flu less likely to spread in non-maskers this flu season? I know there's an answer that isn't conspiratorial, I just don't know what it is.

Less travel between the hemispheres, therefore less spreading of mutations. Social distancing, no events or large gatherings and so on.
