The relevant passage that brought back the memories was the part about Shaw wanting to do a library orientation in rap form and being told by the college that she couldn't. 3/pic.twitter.com/MmEKhvKHVX

Thinking of Ms. Shaw doing a rap version of a library orientation made me wonder if it would end up looking like this particular freestyle rap from antivaxxer Hillary Simpson. Seriously, it was so bad. 4/https://respectfulinsolence.com/2018/09/21/rappin-hillary-simpson-crazymothers-and-deardoctor/ …

My assessment of Hillary Simpson's freestyle rap skills was...not kind. Let's just say that she seems to think she's emulating
@Eminem at The Shelter at@StAndrewsHall back in the day. 5/pic.twitter.com/LzmX7Ncs43

See for yourself what Simpson's sick rhymes sound like and tell me that
@Smith_Surge's library orientation rap wouldn't have been very much the same ! 6/6https://youtu.be/34ZTWvkgiQEShow this thread

Maybe this is a sign of my prejudice but I think banning white librarians from giving their orientations as rap is the future our children deserve.

I don't remember even having a library orientation as an undergrad. As a grad student, the research librarian was terrifying, she was great at her job, but so surly. Call me a weirdo, but prefer terse: here is your information to a happy song and dance routine.
