Wr know there will be an unending parade of demands for safety. You are concerned about DVTs. Soon we will hear concerns about MS, strokes, pancreatic cancer, lupus.... it will never end. burden of proof shifts on to you to show danger is real, not us to show it is false.

Certainly strokes fall under the category of thromboembolic events.

Can you prove to me atenolol doesn’t cause lymphocytic histiocytosis? Has this ever been investigated? Is safety monitoring even being done for this? Wouldn’t you want to reassure people who are worried about this risk?

Except that I DO understand the scientific basis of your "prognostication" and have discussed why it is not particularly plausible from a scientific standpoint and how there is no safety signal consistent with it after millions of doses of #CovidVaccine.

Fair enough. But you are not an immunologist and your self-proclaim label of "PRO-vaccine" come hell or high water does not make your disagreement credible. It is @DrWoodcockFDA @US_FDA @pfizer's legal and ethical duty to look very carefully and urgently.

It jumps out at me (a layperson) that vaccines have much more robust safety signal monitoring than surgical techniques do, & also it's probably not fair to describe Dr Gorski's position as unthinkingly PRO any & all vaccines (see concerns re testing here):https://twitter.com/gorskon/status/1293555410666950658?s=19 …

Yesterday, Russia announced its approval of Sputnik-V, what Vladimir Putin dubs as the first #COVID19 #vaccine. It's propaganda, a con job, given that no data were presented and there have been no phase 3 trials. https://respectfulinsolence.com/2020/08/12/sputnik-v-russian-con-job-covid-19-vaccine/ …

Not quite. Sputnik appears effective and will very likely be comparably safe as the mRNA versions. The trouble is not the vaccine itself. It's when we vaccinate people who are the recently infected in the midst of the pandemic.https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(21)00191-4/fulltext …

Got it. (but the tweet I re-tweeted was from August - the world has seen a lot more of that vaccine by now; I meant it only as an example that Dr Gorski hasn't been knee-jerk on these issues ...)

He probably isn't interested in my post on Operation Warp Speed from May or my post questioning whether, after all the political interference, we could trust the FDA and CDC any more.🙄
