Assassinating the character of a person for political purposes has nothing to do with the pandemic. PRO this, ANTI that. Give a break good man. We are running out of time to control this pandemic. Divided and clueless about all the risks, we fall. It’s not about RFK.

And here you had me wondering if I'd gone too far in asking if you were a "useful idiot" for antivaxxers movement. I'd even started to feel bad, as if I had gone too far. No longer, I'm afraid. Your continued portrayal of criticism of RFK Jr. as "character assassination" did it.

I wonder how Dr. Noorchashm would handle it if he were in your situation, having responded to and debunked RFK jr.’s misrepresentations for over 15 years. I suspect, given his behavior here, he would be a lot less matter of fact and analytic than you are on new articles.

Ppl who do not know the background only know the feel of what they are observing is if they know none of the facts. . New age gurus tend to do a better job at trying to be careful of the feel they leave ppl with than skeptics do. Gorski is beyond frustrated which pp take as mad.

We tend not to listen to ppl who are mad all the time and some groups have been pretrained by those exploiting them that it means their critics are just negative and to be avoided if they give over-the-top criticism.

Who is this “we”? Because people do listen to and turn to Dr. Gorski for rebuttals. Look at the timelines of the people speaking for RFK jr. at least one was clearly sympathetic for a long time.

In other words, when you’re taking his “I’m listening to RFK jr. because he’s more polite” at fave value, you may be misled.

Those of us who have countered disinformation for a long time are well familiar with conspiracy theorists and cranks using "civility" as a weapon, characterizing their critics as "angry" or "uncivil" in order to try to discredit them in the eyes of others.

Indeed, disingenuous appeals to "civility" and "politeness" are an intentional tactic used by those peddling disinformation in order to attack those who criticize them and refute their lies and disinformation.

Similarly, ideologues often use anger or "lack of civility" in those providing information, evidence, and data that disconfirm their preexisting beliefs as a convenient excuse to reject having to engage with that disconfirming evidence or take it seriously.

This is a tactic not limited to quacks and antivaxxers. It's often a tactic wielded against minorities agitating for change, against racism, and for equal rights.
