His views get circulated by some outlets as if he’s an expert on COVID, which means that when he’s wrong (which happens more and more every day now) he’s dangerously wrong. His latest takes on COVID are dangerous, he’s claiming that once you have been vaccinated you can 1/2

ditch masking in public. When we 1) don’t know how effective in reducing the likelihood of infection and transmissibility the vaccine is 2) know not everyone is going to get vaccinated too and 3) seriously undermines the ongoing efforts to increase/maintain mask compliance 2/X

And social distancing measures amongst the general public. Something that in a finicky public that apparently really doesn’t like wearing masks is even harder to do the more people out there are saying “it’s fine I don’t need to wear a mask, I’m immune”.

If you still aren’t convinced why Prasad has become dangerous in the age of COVID @gorskon @MDaware @MarkHoofnagle @MarkELindsay @Merz and many other wonderful accounts have explained and I’m sure will explain again, why Vinny isn’t harmless in ‘presenting alternative views’

I still don’t see inherent ‘danger’ in discussing this idea. He is not lying. I mean more arguments can be made on both sides. Like, since it seems that masking and social distancing is reducing the flu burden, should we do this forever?

Or, at what point does the psychological costs of masking and social distancing override the costs of reducing illness? Does being vaccinated create pressure that may select for mutant stains? He is making an argument. Argue back. Bring in new evidence or holes in the evidence.

Maybe we should ask then, if he is going to be provocative and make these arguments, does he have a right to block people who respectfully disagree?

It’s not that he blocks people who disagree. He blocks people who show that he’s wrong. He can’t admit when he has made a blunder. For a while it was funny, then just sad.

I actually think he silenced my replies for awhile after he put out an argument the neoadjuvant chemo has never been proven to help anyone so I sent an article about how it has helped those the muscle invasive bladder cancer. Guess he didn’t like that.

What? We use neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer all the time. I can find, with little effort, scads of articles showing its benefit, especially in hormone receptor negative and HER2+ cancer.🤦🏻‍♂️
