The minor quibble I have has been his resistance to take on the major contributing source and root cause of so much of this mass delusion; shying away from addressing the metastasized insanity of Movement Conservatism on the podcast has been something of a disservice

I haven't been listening to SGU as regularly as I used to; so I hadn't noticed. Certainly it hasn't been my experience that he discounts the effects of movement conservatism in promoting conspiracy theories, but I could be wrong.

Agreed for many, but in at least 2 cases (climate & smoking), the science denial started with money and/or ideology, and only later only acquired the conspiracy theory. I.e., if a specific science denial is a tree, conspiracy theory is a part of the trunk, not necessarily root.
