Another dumb #COVID19 denial trick. Use the largest possible denominator you can find in order to make the death toll appear "insignificant," whether it's the appropriate denominator or not and ignoring that the pandemic is nowhere near over yet and deaths are *undercounted*.

Exactly. It's not a completely irrational fraction (hey...) But how you use it to judge risk matters. Put it in context by comparing to other risks. In 2015, for example, Cancer deaths were 595000. If you knew that cancer deaths were set to nearly double, you'd freak out. I hope.
