Lots of takeaways from an interview I just did with a gastroenterologist. One of them—should I have known this?—is that faxes (!!!) are still a primary way that physicians send and receive information. "the only industry left that does it"

That's a good point, and he mentioned that...at the same time there are many, many industries that deal with secure information without having to use faxes, no?

Faxes fade over time, sometimes v quickly. Are the docs copying the faxes onto regular paper to preserve them?
