You can decline a particular vaccine without becoming an “anti-vaxxer.” Some vaccines are needed, some are not, and this differs from person to person.

yes, those diseases are gone. vaccines work great against bacteria (whooping cough). They can also work against some viruses (measles). But so far vaccines haven't worked for corona viruses. Immune system doesn't seem to retain antibodies against corona viruses for very long.

we don't develop lifelong immunity to the common cold, a corona virus, and that's why we don't have a vaccine for the common cold. Covid-19 is another corona virus, and so far it looks like the immune system does not retain antibodies to covid for more than 2 or 3 months.

No, the reason we don’t have a vaccine against the common cold is because it’s caused by many different strains of several different viruses, some of which are coronaviruses, most of which are not. (Most are rhinoviruses, actually.)
