The full Fauci quote paints him in a much better light, in my opinion, though does not full absolve the error of the first half. Still, I think it is a mistake not to post the full quote, which shows him displaying the humility/uncertainty suggested by many.pic.twitter.com/8Hygwpumzk

It's rather funny, then, how the eminent Dr. Prasad misrepresents skepticism in order to try to persuade people to stop "dunking on 7' hoops" of alternative medicine and antivaccine pseudoscience. He should practice what he preaches.

True, he wasn't aiming his message at the general public, but I think the same principle applies. By his own argument, how can I now trust his other pronouncements after he told such whoppers about "dunking on a 7' hoop"?

I wonder if John Ionaddis had made a similar error, if he would have written a piece defending him? To be clear, I agree with the overall message that public health officials should be always honest and upfront.
