Also, they're not content just saying that #Ivermectin *might* have modest therapeutic effect against #COVID19. Oh, no. They have to spin it as a "miracle cure."

But more than that, they have to portray
#Ivermectin as having only a one in a quadrillion chance (or some such ridiculously huge number) that all the positive trials in their meta-analysis could have come about by random chance alone.1 reply 0 retweets 10 likes -

Basically, I'm at the same point with
#ivermectin for#COVID19 now that I was with#hydroxychloroquine several months ago. It might have some modest effect, but the evidence is really questionable right now. Will ivermectin turn out better than HCQ? That remains to be seen.2 replies 1 retweet 13 likes -

In other words, even if
#ivermectin is ultimately validated in randomized trials as having some activity against#COVID19, right here, right now, it's being massively and irresponsibly portrayed as some sort of miracle cure, just as#hydroxychloroquine was in March and April.3 replies 2 retweets 12 likes -

YouTube videos are not clinical validation. Well designed peer reviewed randomized clinical trials are. I just searched PubMed and didn’t find any for
#Ivermectin for#COVID19.5 replies 4 retweets 37 likes -

Even if it has some benefits would you as a doctor not want more trails done here in the us ? I think you are missing the point ... which is more investigation needs to be done

But instead its biggest proponents have already decided its a cure. Thats been the problem this entire time, the drugs get a trial in the court of public opinion, not in scientific trials. Doctors that use them use no controls and the only proof they have that it works is 1/2

I note that I was fairly harsh about the quality of the data used to justify the emergency use approval of remdesivir. I also note that FDA review is not the same thing as peer review.
