By Ioannidis' own conclusion: "Inferences on effects of NPIs are non-robust and highly sensitive to model specification." Funny how he just so happened to conclude that the model that showed the least effect of "lockdowns" was the best.🙄https://twitter.com/DrEliDavid/status/1343359007004774400 …

I can usually tell when someone has moved from scientist to charlatan when I know what position they will take on a politically charged scientific issue without having to read their work. There was basically a 0% chance he would conclude lockdowns worked.

Oh, goody. You reminded me that you exist. (I'd forgotten about you and your #COVID19 misinformation.) I've been meaning to write about you for @ScienceBasedMed. Too bad I've written my last post of 2020. Oh, well, there's always 2021.😂

Write away, it'll be the same old scientism stuff so can't guarantee I'll read it - but do enjoy my compiled list of ~25 analyses that put cost:benefit of lockdown "science" in the toilet 😉 Prof Ioannidis' is just the latest, but I know you don't really care about data like I do

I care enough about data that, unlike you, I don't cherry pick *only* studies that support my preconceived biases on a topic.😉

What does "scientism" mean when it comes to infectious disease control? Isn't that the only reasonable way to implement public health measures?

Cherry picking a group of...~25 studies, and leaving out a few conflicted ones - which a quick read shows to be "toilet papers" - papers from the same teams who drove the lockdown lunacy in the first place (like Imperial College)? The real problem is that half of the studies on his list don't even say what he thinks they say. He won't read one word past the point where he thinks the study supports his prejudice And the authors of the other half have come out and said "No, that's not what we said."
