#COVID19 testing by nasal swab does NOT involve harvesting or sequencing your DNA. Seriously, it doesn't. It's an RT-PCR test that looks for #SARSCoV2 RNA sequences in the cells and mucus collected by nasal swab. This sort of misinformation is harmful. https://twitter.com/naomirwolf/status/1343311942077845505 …

Similarly, antibody testing for #COVID19 also does NOT involve harvesting or sequencing your DNA. It involves testing your blood for the presence of antibodies against #SARSCoV2. Again, @naomirwolf should stop spreading misinformation.

Now, there's a reasonable debate to be had about the sharing of #COVID19 test results, although it's pretty much standard that companies that do medical tests share the results with the physicians who ordered them and select third parties (e.g., insurance companies paying)...

...HOWEVER, it does not contribute to that potentially reasonable debate to misrepresent it as something it is not, and it is NOT about "sharing" your DNA results with third parties.

I reported her tweet as it is dangerous and could dissuade people from getting tested. Dr. Naomi Wolf is a PhD in English language and Literature and should not be getting medical advice, especially when it’s patently false.

Normally, I don't object at all to people using "Dr" (e.g. Jill Biden) if they have a PhD. The sole exception is when they spread medical misinformation, as the use of "Dr." is often intended to confer an unearned legitimacy to their medical pronouncements.

It would seem that she feels that is her duty to enable the spread of the virus. Loopy ideas re both medical and rights - the right to spread the disease and kill others.
