This is infuriating. Skylar is an 18 year old girl who left her hotel to watch her boyfriend compete in a jet ski competition... 4 months in jail?!

She broke Cayman’s laws. Americans don’t get to decide which laws they follow when in another country. It was premeditated; she could have reintroduced the virus to our community after MONTHS of being covid-free (community wise). She’s lucky she didn’t get a longer sentence!
-
What do "Americans" have to do with it? She's one person. I wouldn't say all Caymans universalized individual misbehaviors to entire ethnic groups just because I saw you do so on Facebook.

We are furious at her blatant disregard of our laws. The fact that Americans think their ‘exceptionalism’ protects them everywhere they go & want to do what makes them happy in that moment, well it’s infuriating. And it’s embarassing as an American.

We do? You're lying.
