I also faint often, but usually not because of needles—however, I did faint once while donating blood because I foolishly looked at the bag of my own blood and reflected on the fact that it was quite a large volume of blood that was no longer inside my body where it belonged.

At my institution, a male colleague lay down to have the annual flu shot because he said he always faints. And he was as white as the sheet on which he was lying, so it was just as well he was supine!

I worked with a veterinarian who was the same. She had to lie down for any injection at all, not just vaccines, & also for blood draws. She’d been like that since she was a kid. It’s a thing. Antivax numpties will latch on to ANYthing to boost their agenda

I was taking blood from this rather large lady who fainted on top of me. I slid to the ground trying to hold the puncture wound so she didn't bleed all over. My co-workers did nothing more than dissolve into helpless laughter.
