The problem with an online mob is that people are quick to assume and only a few, if any, stop to review the history of any ongoing feuds. Everything is now a spectacle where small differences escalate into unnecessary blow out fights.

When someone feels slighted, even in the most minor way, watch what happens. A difference of opinion is no longer allowed. Not when audiences are in the thousands. It must be maintained. Gotta save face at all costs.

On a personal level, I find it all quite unfortunate. I respect the hell out of everyone involved, but I don’t understand the emotional outbursts. Rationality is abandoned. The irony being that these folks are the top % of highly educated people on this platform.
