David Gorski, MD, PhD Retweeted Marianne Williamson

Ms. Williamson is, as always, clueless. I mean, there are large numbers of doctors testing whatever vitamin concoction they think will work on #COVID19, despite the lack of evidence. Meanwhile, vitamins don't "boost the immune system." That's a meaningless quack buzzword.https://twitter.com/marwilliamson/status/1336718269995233280 …

I'm hopeful for developing a vaccine, medicine, PPE etc. as much as anyone but it makes me uncomfortable how resistant officialdom is to even discussing boosting the immune system through vitamins etc. Edging out anything but pharmaceutical formulation is wrong-minded & obsolete

If she can come up with results from a RCT that show this, great...why not do some studies @marwilliamson?

It's disheartening to remember how many people thought she would be a good president.

Well, you never know. Apricot pits just might do the trick (if they don't poison you first), and I've heard wonderful, just wonderful, things about serial coffee enemas south of the, er, border.

Also, increasing the activity of the immune system isn't necessarily a good thing. There's a lot of bad things that can happen with an over-active immune system. A lot of the deaths of #Covid19 involve cytokine storms!

Yep. I like to say that you shouldn't "boost" the immune system. You should fine tune it.

not that i'm defending or endorsing her position: But, surely healthy immune does 'depend' on vitamins intake/reserves, so if deficient, then 'restoring to normal levels' does technically represent a 'boost'. no? thinking Vit D and C esp. recall some research result recently on D

The immune system can be suppressed or lowered but it cannot be "strengthened" unless its repairing from a previous illness, addiction or something like this. A "boosted" immune system means you are experiencing fever, aches, chills, cough, etc.
