You said the NIH should review the data. Not fund more studies.

Please refer to other tweet. Yes, I am asking for NIH review. You said, we need studies, but that isn't NIH role. I corrected you

I do hope that based on review, they will fund studies, because getting funding is difficult for an off-patent drug. But you are correct, right, accurate, absolutely on target that I said the NIH should review.

And the NIH shouldn't review it yet. There's no data worth reviewing. To clarify. The role of the NIH is not to review bad data and render opinions.https://twitter.com/ThugaManLaForge/status/1337841725260361731?s=19 …

Precisely. The NIH doesn't have any study worth its time to review. We all agree that we need more studies. Which is not the role of the NIH.

So instead of responding to thousands of front line doctors who are begging for action, they should listen to you before reviewing anything. Got it

No. They should follow their protocols. I'm not as important as my children think I am.

So don't their protocols say that when a senator sends them something for review they should consider evaluating it? You all are really splitting hairs here. I really don't understand if it takes 5 minutes what are you afraid of?

If the doctors pushing #Ivermectin think it's so great for #COVID19, they should submit grant applications to the appropriate Institute at @NIH, like everyone else, and let the study section review them and assign priority scores, just like everyone else.

Of course, NIH study sections expect a lot of compelling preliminary data, a well thought out plan, and a description of the methods used that demonstrates that the applicants know what they are talking about and can do what they propose to do. That might be an impediment.

After all, as was the case for the #Hydroxychloroquine cultists, I am not getting the vibe from the #Ivermectin believers that they can meet these criteria.

I was hoping for something different. But the argument of, maybe it works so we should just go full steam ahead and the doctors that are supporting it also pushing other therapies rates questionable to trash is the exact same flavor as the HCQ heads.

Which is, of course, why I've been Tweeting for the last few days that I'm getting a very #Hydroxychloroquine vibe from those pushing #Ivermectin. They use EXACTLY the same arguments. They respond to criticism EXACTLY the same way. It's eery.
