This is a disinformation technique, pure and simple, designed to minimize the severity of the pandemic. In a mere ten months, #COVID19 had already claimed more lives than the lives claimed that accidents, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, or influenza in a typical year. 1/https://twitter.com/AlexBerenson/status/1334845736727564297 …

Basically, this year #COVID19 had been the third leading cause of death in the US, behind cancer and heart disease. 2/https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/deaths.htm …

Basically, a brand new disease came out of nowhere to be the third leading cause of death this year. This is incredible and horrific, and the death toll is still climbing alarmingly. 3/3

Yeah. If we all vote zero on cancer, TB, HIV, and heart disease we can just eliminate all those deaths.

I don’t understand. If its so bad, how can I argue that no freedoms should be limited or behaviors required? You must be wrong.

I was looking for a category of bias that might match this, and I realized its more than that. Its the defense mechanism Denial. People hate being forced to change, and this is how their brain allows them to not have to. I suddenly wonder if more empathy would help.

So 600 times 250K right? Let's say there is overlap and cut it in half...75 million people know someone who died of covid or 1 in 4 Americans roughly. That math is better than this poll as you say...pic.twitter.com/BP5JKhuxy9

I remember how at the beginning of the pandemic, they were writing it off because the 1919 flu epidemic had killed more. I would say "So far," that is. Funny how they dropped that argument. Now they resort to ageism.
