Antivaxxers claim that #RNA in #Moderna and #Pfizer #COVID19 #vaccines will “permanently alter your DNA” or even “make you transhuman.” Such claims rest on utter ignorance of the totality of molecular biology. Same as it ever was from antivaxxers.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/rna-vaccines-against-covid-19-will-not-permanently-alter-your-dna/ …

Oh god, this won't help. Its more than a paragraph and has big words in. Can't you do a simple flow chart with crayons? 😉

Thank you. One question: Not a meaningful risk, but isn't there a non-zero chance of *any* RNA fragment being reverse transcribed, then integrated? Weren't many pseudogenes formed that way? (I mean, it would most likely be transcriptionally silent, but still non-zero.)

Since the human genome doesn’t code for reverse transcriptase and integrase, I’d put this possibility at 0%.

And smoking probably changes more DNA than any other substance. They don't mention that. Please ignore antivaccers claims.

We who consider our bodies God given blessings to be protected from experimental shit like this; well NO.

Simple solution: Don’t take the vaccine.

Vaccines can't do that and is why a lack of education is seriously hurting our country. Basic knowledge of science would let anyone know that this is not possible. There is technology to change DNA but it is expensive and requires a huge lab. That is the CRISPR-Cas9.

It's also amusing that the same people who claim not to fear SARS-CoV2 have no problem with a whole lot of viral RNA & millions of proteins but suddenly take issue with just 4% of the viral genome that translates to only the spike protein.

@corey_vollinger weren't you saying you were worried the vaccines would change our DNA?

I may have been misinformed. Im not an expert, but I still am trying to understand the biology. Regardless it’s a new technology and I’m not anxious to be the first one to try it until it’s proven safe.
