Yes! As a trainee managing apheresis patients, we “treated” some made up diseases (and some real zebras)....but all of the symptoms, as experienced by patient, were real. Giving a fake but convenient name to these symptoms helps none.

Do we know what causes symptoms of “electromagnetic sensitivity” or at least have we found any common markers from patients who experience these symptoms?

I think the point is there isn’t one specific name, because all these people likely don’t have the same disorder.

I had a patient with EMS hypersensitivity that was ok with local (landline days) calls but could not tolerate long distance. My point is not to make fun of this- as you point out it’s real to them... it just doesn’t match the physics...

Important distinction. I had random people speculate I had chronic Lyme and/or severe food sensitivities causing my health issues. Turns out I have a genetic connective tissue disorder.
