A simple comparison between places that had mask mandates vs no mandates, as well as an analyses of cases after mask mandates came into being should dispel all doubts. Most people cannot comprehend the size of a virus. It is basically a large molecule.

Any mask that can stop a virus is going to make breathing incredibly difficult due to air resistance.

This tweet reflects a profound ignorance of the science. As well as boundless arrogance and egotism. It is a Dunning-Kruger tweet.

Now that's a scientific argument. 🙄 The bottom line is lab studies showing droplets are blocked by masks fail to show that public masking has any benefit. Anyone who understands science AND public policy should get this. An policy intervention that only works in the lab ->

is useless. As @VPrasadMDMPH puts it, a cake is not only its batter but also the temperature of the oven. And the basic issue here is that there is zero high-quality scientific evidence showing that public masking reduces the spread of C-19 or any respiratory virus. -->

Even the WHO acknowledges this, as does every respectable health authority on earth (and no, the US CDC does not qualify there). As for that sh*tty Lancet roll-up of "observational studies", please note we have reams of "observational evidence" available from countries, ->

@ianmSC updates these charts regularly and literally has hundreds at various levels of population from all over the world demonstrating this. The most comprehensive review of NPIs I have seen is the one below, which showed that over 41 countries, introducing mask-wearing ->

I'll just attach that below. I know that in spite of the lack of evidence supporting it and the evidence against it, mask-wearing ->

That seems to be dealing with masks for self protection rather then the protection of others from oneself. Usually statically charged masks will filter out inhaled droplets, such as n95s etc.

It’s amazing how pro-maskers keep making the mistake of assuming that masks work with absolutely zero evidence they do in the real world and plenty they don’t But keep making hyperbolic “see you in the ICU” nonsensical statements…”Do no harm” right??
