#Hydroxychloroquine advocates are very similar. They emphasize anecdotal evidence and unreliable, bias-prone observational trials over controlled randomized trials and really, really believe that HCQ is saving lives.

It speaks to the requirement for better public understanding of what constitutes a weight of evidence .. If people are unable to discriminate between anectdote and study then we as 'scientists in society' have failed. Im not for self-flagellation but we need to accept this. :(
