Welp, I guess we probably won’t be watching @TheCrownNetflix (or much of anything else, including @LastWeekTonight on @HBO) this evening, as our @Xfinity Internet and @comcast cable TV service are both completely out, with no estimate yet for when service will be restored.

Good thing we still have power and I can still use my iPhone as a hotspot, or I wouldn’t be able to finish tomorrow’s
@ScienceBasedMed post. I’d better hurry, in case power goes out too...3 replies 0 retweets 10 likesShow this thread -
It's a very odd experience watching actual over-the-air TV. I'm discovering that the antenna I have is not great, with most stations showing fairly frequent pixelation due to weak signal. I need to find a better one...

Replying to @gorskon
Over the air (when you can get a good signal) is far superior to cable due to the compression most companies use.

Sure, when I can get a decent signal, which I'm not getting where I am. (The pixelation is horrible. Oddly enough, the only station I can get without pixelation right now is Ion Television, which is showing an NCIS:Los Angeles marathon.
) I definitely need a better antenna.
