Not even just consequences either, criticizing or refutation is an infringement on their speech. Not passing on or enabling the spread of their abhorrent or dishonest views uncritically is an abridgment of their rights.

You are correct. To them criticism and/or refutation of their speech is the same as “censoring” them or “suppressing” their free speech.
