When he’s right, he’s right. Many of them also seem to interpret free speech to mean that any pushback, criticism, or refutation is the same thing as “suppression” or “censorship” of their free speech.https://twitter.com/Lincoln_Cog/status/1327968486845509636 …

Very true. And they also want to have every opinion or idea be considered "equal". As though validity doesn't matter or that opinions are to be considered facts. It has been exhausting in my area competing with the "you need to see this video" crowd.

Oh, definitely. But they don't seem to get that "free speech" does not equate to "free access to a platform to magnify that speech". So they wave the 1st at any attempt to refuse them access to those platforms when they engage in any of the above.

Not even just consequences either, criticizing or refutation is an infringement on their speech. Not passing on or enabling the spread of their abhorrent or dishonest views uncritically is an abridgment of their rights.

You are correct. To them criticism and/or refutation of their speech is the same as “censoring” them or “suppressing” their free speech.

As the late, great Scottish educationalist John Aitkenhead often said, ‘you are free to jump in the water but you are not free to stay dry’.

Was watching a YT w/
@BenBurgis on Sat. and saw a comment about vaccination WRT bodily autonomy. RightLibs push the individualist swan song yet fail to examine communal benefits & risks of people getting vaccinated. Point: libertarian nonsense is more than "free speech"Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
