This is the most worrisome part. I keep trying to explain that falling in the middle (between full recovery and death) can be completely life altering. We are seeing a lot of autonomic dysfunction and perm heart and lung damage. The “middle outcomes” need to be front and center

I have a patient who lost the sense of smell with COVID, her ID doc suspects it’s forever since it has been 8 months.

>1/3 of Americans are overweight and ot have comorbities. Is this an acceptable death sentence? Sorry. You were overweight. You die. Too old. You die. Psoriasis. You die. No known comorbities. COVID don't care, you die. We have ~300K deaths.

I signed up for the Long Covid facebook group during my second Covid scare. The things I'm reading there are terrifying. "Lost sense of smell months ago. Everything smells like rotten onions and garbage can" "3 months post infection. Out of breath after simply taking a shower"

Exactly why antivaxxers do it with other VPDs and now with

There's going to be a whole bunch of newly disabled people. Who are going to learn how incredibly hard it is to get Disability and how long the process actually takes and how little a person gets on Disability. In a Disability system that is already understaffed & overwhelmed

Tried getting through the Fox bubble of some people down here in TX still acting like this is all being blown out of proportion. I brought this up, citing examples of people I know, and that gave them a second’s pause but that was about it.

And this is why as a healthy 40 year old I try to avoid it like the plague!

Smart. All rational people would avoid a dangerous gamble on their health.
