On the other hand, I can't help but think that, if I were finishing medical school now with the record/publications/experience that I had when I finished over 30 years ago, I wouldn't stand a chance. I'd never manage to get into a residency as good as the one I did. 2/

Bottom line: Screw my comparing myself then to medical students now. The times were different. In any event, the kids are alright in medicine today (and getting better). May it continue to be so! 3/3
