It’s not that fascists don’t exist. It’s that there’s a lot of people using it in a lot of ways, which dilutes its utility.

Yes. Just like “racist” want it to mean “literal Klan member who screams the n-word, and no one else,” fascists want to define it so narrowly people get off on a technicality regard of actual beliefs.
