Yes. Just like “racist” want it to mean “literal Klan member who screams the n-word, and no one else,” fascists want to define it so narrowly people get off on a technicality regard of actual beliefs.

I mean if there’s someone whose main priority is one-party totalitarian government enforced by a militarized citizenry? Ok. But fighting for policies I want isn’t helped when my policy allies use Republican and fascist interchangeably.

When Republicans embrace fascist ideas, as they have been doing, I’m going to call it fascism. Not doing so is intellectually dishonest and, again, is exactly what they want.
