20 years have passed and I'm still scratching my head about what all the hype over The Strokes was all about. Yes, they have their own sound, but it's so limited.

Good point. They should have been a flash in the pan and yet another critics mislabel, but they endured in a weird way. As I see them, they're like a 2000s "lite" version of The Knack, but kept getting good press.
