This struck me as nauseatingly self-congratulatory. First, it conflates justified harsh criticism of the administration’s response to #COVID19 with “bashing” the US. Utter BS. 1/https://twitter.com/drjohnm/status/1320465216430288896 …

Next, it also implies that epidemiologists, doctors, and scientists on Twitter doing the “bashing” are “spreading fear” with excessive “certainty” while implying his “uncertainty” is superior. 2/

It’s also a subtle (actually not-so-subtle) ad hominem. He’s implying that those “bashing” the US over its pandemic response and “spreading fear” on Twitter are doing it to gain followers. He’s impugning their motives. This is no different from “They do it for the clicks.” 3/

Meanwhile, by comparison, he’s not-so-subtly pausing his motives as more pure by comparison because his uncertainty/nuance/“questioning” allegedly loses him followers. 4/

Disappointing. That’s all I can say. Dora he even realize how such a Tweet comes across or realize that it makes him sound even worse than those whom he characterizes as dogmatically certain fear mongering chasers of Twitter followers? 5/

Does he even realize...? Autocorrect strikes again! (Also, Dora is the name of one of my dogs...)
