Those same ‘strong conclusions’ you are citing for the application of masks can also be made regarding other variables that weren’t controlled. RCTs prove the other things you mention- thus my point.

Of course, methodolatry is also a science denier tactic, in this case, the disingenuous appeal to the absence of RCTs about a question used as a propaganda tactic to argue that we can’t make conclusions about the question based on other forms of investigation,

Your opinion of me doesn’t matter. Again, my understanding of resp physiology, immune function, and droplet formation as it relates to viral spread of resp illness describes me better. But nice of you to resort to character insults- very ‘professional’ of you

I see nothing in your feed to indicate that you are an infectious disease expert or epidemiologist with relevant qualifications to mount a scientifically credible challenge to the current consensus on #COVID19. This thread is for you.https://twitter.com/gorskon/status/1320052957107376128 …

In other areas of science not as well settled (e.g., #COVID19), they seek to undermine current scientific consensus by vastly exaggerating the evidence behind minority and fringe positions and mischaracterizing and minimizing evidence in support of current consensus. 2/

Nothing wrong with that. So’s my wife. It doesn’t give him any special expertise about #COVID19, however.

I work with a surgeon who often tells his residents/med students that alittle bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing for a foolish man to have.

CSB. I’ve worked with hundreds of surgeons across many specialties who often tell their med students/ residents lots of things...many have opposing views on things, even within their specialty. Btw, many agree with me of mask efficacy.

As a surgeon, my response is: Who cares is several surgeons agree with a viewpoint not supported by science? As a surgeon, I can also say that, when it comes to being victims of Dunning-Kruger, surgeons as a discipline tend to be among the worst, right up there with engineers.
