Because he’s spent four years having nearly everyone harass and harangue him (from day one) while also trying to run the country. This sort of pressure has not been levied against any president (at least, as far as I see and remember for my age).

Something I asked myself is “how would you behave if everyone was coming for your throat 24/7?” That’s precisely when I started to have empathy for the man. He’s not the best person, but hell if he hasn’t stood up to a serious battle.
