They’re not “militias.” They’re domestic terrorists endangering and intimidating their fellow Americans. Words matter.

https://twitter.com/kathleen_belew/status/1311794655319785474 … It's a six / half dozen situation. We call them terrorists or terrorist militas, we lose the context that militias are extralegal and possibly legitimize some militias. We call them militias, we lose the context that they are fomenters of terrorism.

I don't know where I stand on what term to use, tbqh, but I wholeheartedly agree that militias are terrorist organizations.

Honestly, they’re just gangs. White gangs, but gangs nonetheless. We need to push back to those people and ask them to image black or brown faces in all that paramilitary gear, holding combat weapons, to see if they’re willing to call them “militia” as well.

You think they are capable of empathizing? Dream on. Domestic terrorism. It’s a thing, and these folks are actively engaging in it.

Technically wasn't this country founded by "domestic terrorists"?

I'm not sure why some non-terrorists are so determined to call them militias. Globally it's generic enough, but in the US it meant armed civilians who obey the state government when called to service (hence security of the state in 2nd am.), which is totally not these people.

I'm not "on your side" and I call them terrorists. What part of the State Constitution support includes murdering and kidnapping an elected official - I might add, from an undisputed election prior? Terror is terror, and they are thugs. And libertarians like me agree with YOU.
