The confusion here is in most of the world an osteopath is not considered a medical doctor. But absolutely in the US they are every bit the equivalent of MD’s

Yes, that's a large part of the reason for the antipathy towards DOs. In much of the rest of the world, DOs are a lot more like chiropractors than MDs. I've had to explain this to skeptics in the UK, Europe, and Australia.
