Sure. Both my university and cancer center switched over from Exchange to Microsoft 365 a couple of years ago. There are a number of advantages (free 1TB storage on OneDrive and five installations of Microsoft Office per user), but this is one of the disadvantages.

Yeah, I just see the downsides of 365 as potentially outweighing the upsides. Esp WRT local control, privacy, and uptime.

But I'm also just still kind of annoyed that when my school switched it was without notice, I couldn't access email for about a day, and it broke functionality in the desktop version of outlook, for a while.
