If it surprised you, then you haven't dealt with antivaxxers. They didn't join forces with the anti-maskers, they were the anti-maskers and Qanon. In Texas anyway, antivaxxers had already seated themselves firmly in the far-right. So they drove the Covid denying

It didn't surprise me that they combined forces, although I must admit I was a little bit surprised at how fast and how enthusiastic the embrace was. I expected it to take a little longer than within days to weeks of the pandemic hitting the US.

Basically, maybe somewhat naively, I expected it to take a while longer before antivaxxers teamed up with #QAnon.
