Fool, Bill Clinton was impeached five years AFTER he'd nominated RBG.

The original tweet said an impeached president should not pick our next supreme court justice. This was the response.

Ah, I didn't catch that implication. I thought he meant that later he was impeached (which is true). I still honestly don't see how getting a bj in the white houses would make his supreme court pick any less legit, despite not being a fan of Clinton.

Some libs are arguing that an impeached President shouldn't get a SCOTUS pick. Personally, I find that argument ridiculous, but even more ridiculous is the conservative rejoinder that Clinton, who was impeached, got to pick RBG, who was nominated long before his impeachment.

The fact is who we elect as president, gets to pick replacement SCOTUS. It's really clearly laid out and I don't see why anyone is discussing "it should be the next president" or "this president was impeached". That's a key reason why we vote for president.

Yet that's exactly what Mitch McConnell did in 2016, isn't it?

That's the thing, constitutionally, Trump has every right to nominate a SCOTUS Justice right up to the moment of his replacements inauguration. The problem is that is not what republicans were saying 4 years ago.
