Evidence for T2D is > 20 years old now. Seizures maybe a 100 years. Plenty of evidence happily ignored by standard of care Doctors. If you watch this let me know if you claim evidence for Keto in T2D is 'weak" tldr? It's not.https://youtu.be/D4odBoZYyaw

tl;dr: That’s what keto quacks always claim. The only fairly convincing evidence is for epilepsy. The evidence for treating cancer (my specialty) is weak to nonexistent.

It’s nice that he has papers. I didn’t say that it doesn’t work, I said that it’s experimental. There are different classes of drugs for different psychiatric diagnosis. The idea of a singular treatment effecting all psychiatric conditions is absurd.

To chime in, the keto diet is an evidence-based treatment for epilepsy. It can stop seizures when all else fails. We use epilepsy treatments in psychiatry all the time. And the science lines up re metabolic abnormalities found in psych disorders. https://www.cochrane.org/CD001903/EPILEPSY_ketogenic-diets-drug-resistant-epilepsy#:~:text=Ketogenic%20diets%20(KDs)%20are%20high,and%20last%20updated%20in%202018 ….

Yes, RCT's needed, but some are now underway.
