You are EXACTLY the kind of person that caused Ignaz Semmelweis' breakdown and death. People like you should get out of the way of people who are actually getting results.

No, I do. But we have been growing so quickly -- on word of mouth -- that we now have clients in 130 countries so we have a lot of data. Now we need to get some studies done. We will. In the meantime, we have to put up with people like you. Don't worry. I can handle it.

Actually it is. Perhaps what you mean is it’s not proof of causation. Applies especially to all nutritional epidemiological research which forms basis for current dietary guidelines and global teachings in nutrition/dietetics. @bigfatsurprise

Anecdotes do not, by their very nature, consist of consistently or reliably measurable metrics; as such only someone willing to torture them into giving a particular result would consider them data.

When I turn the tap on in my kitchen, water comes out. My evidence of that is anecdotal but I think I might withstand scientific scrutiny. Or at least feline scrutiny.pic.twitter.com/EdRCQt0lhV

It's also not a medical anecdote, which by its very nature, infers potential causation; i.e., that an intervention resulted in the outcome claimed to have been observed.

I will pretend that you care about the truth more than you care about trolling. To my peril. I stopped drinking milk. My acne cleared. I started again. It came back. I stopped again. It cleared. So I developed a hypothesis that milk might influence my acne. Fair hypothesis?

But you haven't *proven* the hypothesis. You regularly conflate hypothesis-*generating* evidence with evidence *testing* and *supporting* a hypothesis.

David, all I did was lay out the starting point for the hypothesis in 1991. It was a fair hypothesis. Since then I have tested that hypothesis in the real world and collected enough anecdotal evidence (and corroborating research) to suggest that it might be a valid theory.

You may not like this but that doesn’t concern me; helping people does. Food science is tricky; controlled studies are difficult because of the variables and the time scales (measuring epigenetic expression in the next generation.) In the meantime, I will do that I can to help.
