I’ve noticed that, whenever I criticize acupuncture as the quackery based on prescientific mysticism and theatrical placebo that it is, inevitably some who claim to “hate woo” will express *considerable* displeasure.

At the end, the acupuncture worked, completely relieving Winchester’s pain, leading him to apologize for having always referred to them as “Larry, Moe, and curly” and start addressing them as “Doctor.” It was truly nauseating. This episode was from 1980, late in the show’s run.

I think it's because it's "indicated" in so many conditions that go away by themselves. It "helped" my stress-induced hives. But this year I had bad hip pain and had to cancel my MRI and PT appts. In six weeks staying home, it resolved.
