#MedTwitter we are doctors or physicians, not providers. “Provider” was a term first used by The Third Reich (Nazis) to devalue Jewish physicians as medical professionals. When someone calls you a provider -- help educate them.

Ich spreche Deutch. Und das ist richtig.

Sie können nicht einmal Deutsch buchstabieren. (You can’t even spell Deutsch) The point is, Jewish physicians were not called Der Arzt, they were nominalized and made generic, which is relevant here. However these are the main reasons not to use the term “provider:”pic.twitter.com/7SlbQhK0bf

I can’t understand why you wouldn’t stop using the term. We are telling you it is offensive. Why the arguement?
-
The term can be stopped. That’s not the immediate issue. We must consider- is the term more offensive than mischaracterization of the Holocaust? For those who dislike the term, I struggle to form a less effective argument than calling it Naziism. You’re all better than this.

Correct, it doesn't. And it is even more multifaceted, the verb behandeln can be (no, not 'freely') translated as 'to doctor sb.', extending it to their respective nouns (more freely): Behandler = Doctor.
